Following on from attending the launch of the 2022 Night Before Christmas charity campaign in August, I followed up on my commitment that everyone in my office would be filling a red bag with gifts for a young person or vulnerable adult instead of the usual Secret Santa.
When I visited Jodie McFarlane and her fabulous mum, Isabella in the summer at the charity’s base in Annbank Community Hall, I was blown away with the dedication and drive of these two formidable women and of all of the many volunteers who work the whole year round to make sure no child misses out at Christmas.
I heard so many humbling and touching stories and after attending the charity’s 2022 campaign launch my office team and I agreed we would be filling a red bag with gifts to donate, and I was so glad for us all to have attended this week to hand in our red bags; and importantly to see all the amazing and kind donations that have been received, of which the dedicated volunteers are working so very hard to turn around and get the orders out to where they need to go.
This year with many more families finding themselves struggling, the charity is in full throttle, and receiving donations right up until Monday 5th December 2022 and if you are in a position to donate and can do so grateful if you can check out their website for details on donations and of the 50 drop-off points across Ayrshire.
