I am calling on my rural constituents to take part in a Scottish Government consultation to ensure their needs and wants are listened to and acted upon.

The survey will help develop the Scottish Government’s Rural Delivery Plan which will address issues and challenges faced by those living rurally in mainland Scotland. The plan will cover areas such as agriculture, transport, housing, health and social care, marine, land reform, population, skills, digital connectivity, and economic development.
Ayrshire and Scotland are blessed with a rich history of rural life that is central to our culture as well as our local and national economies.
Coming from a rural background myself, I know how rewarding it is to live and work in the countryside, however, I am also aware of the many challenges residents face. That is why it is essential that those in Government listen to rural voices, and more importantly, act upon their wishes.
The Scottish Government has shown repeatedly that it is committed to supporting rural Scotland to thrive, however, I am pleased that Ministers recognise more is needed to be done. That is why the Rural Delivery Plan will look at policy across all levels of government to ensure it is working to the benefit of all who live and work in places like Ayrshire.
This will only work if residents make their voices heard. So if you live and work in rural Scotland, please take part in the Rural Delivery Plan survey before it closes on 17 March
